types of TV / monitor in the market today that displace CRT tv with is:
lcd, plasma TV and the led. LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. LCD
TVs have a liquid crystal between the flat screen panel TV, which is
activated when the electric current supplied to it. LED TV work on
liquid crystals the same platform, but the light comes from
light-emitting diodes (Light Emitting Diodes, LED) used as a back-light
for these TVs, while LCD TV normally uses lamp CCFL (Cold Cathode
Fluorescent Lamps). A plasma TV works on a completely different platform
because the image comes from the gas and not fluid as in LCD and Plasma.

The main points to consider in choosing a TV :
1. Contrast Ratio
A contrast ratio is the ability of TV to show areas of high contrast on the screen. Contrast ratio is the ability of a TV show the darkest black and most bright white color. The greater the contrast ratio of a TV is the better TV
2. Viewing Angle
Viewing angle is the angle where the TV images can be seen normally. All TV can be seen when you right in front of it, but because all the audience can not sit right in front of the TV and had to sit around it (right and left side), then the angle becomes very important parameter. A TV that has a small Viewing angle will lose detail when viewed from the side position. More View angle more reason to choose
3. Color Depth
Color depth is the number of bits used to represent the color of a single pixel in a bitmapped image or video frame buffer. More number of color depth more picture quality you will get
4. Motion / Response Time
Motion / response time is the speed of a TV (1 dots of color) to change the image (color), smaller value of response time of a TV the better. And is not recommended to buy TV with more than 5 ms response time.
5. Power Consumption
Power Consumption is the power that they use a TV in working condition. The smaller power consumption (w) it's mean more efficient use of electricity TV and of course more environmentally friendly.
6. Lifespan / lifetime
lifespan / lifetime TV is the theoretical value can work well without significant degradation. longer TVlifespan is the ability of a TV/high Definition TV to work normaly and before get burn-in. Generally the lifetime of a TV around 40,000-70,000 hours.

Design and TV color should be suit well with the color and interior design where the TV will be placed, but black is major TV color lately. While the brand depends entirely your tastes and habits but it is recommended to choose a brand that has a warranty that is easy and good after-sales service as well.
